What is our purpose?
The main purpose of the Federation when it was first organized in 1964, was to form a California voting block to vote in GCSAA annual election.

What is our Mission?
To work in partnership, establish greater strategic connection and achieve mutual goals with our member associations.

What is our Vision?
 To continue maintaining top performing member associations.
 To be recognized by the California golf industry as the authority regarding issues relating to golf course management and the environment.
 To be recognized as the California golf course management information center.
 To be the center for affordable continuing education and the provider of information on golf course management issues.

What are our Goals?
To increase effectiveness in which we serve our member associations.
To provide support to our member associations, that will enable them to achieve success.
To provide an excellent California E-Magazine.
To make the California GCSA Trade Show a highly successful event.
To increase the value of the Certified Golf Course Superintendent title.
To maintain an excellent working relationship among the California Golf Course Superintendents Association Managers.
To maintain a strong GCSAA voting block.
To provide turf grass research funding.
To maintain a statewide legislative advocacy.
To insure a California representation in GCSAA

Who are the members?
The Board of Directors of the California GCSA is comprised of two (2) members from each of the six (6) regional Golf Course Superintendents Associations and two (2) commercial members. The two (2) commercial members represent the three (3) northern associations and the three (3) southern associations.

What the CGCSA does?
Holds Board of Directors Meetings.
Plans the Annual California Hospitality Suite "California Room" at GCSAA GIS.
Works with the hosted chapter to organize the California GCSA Annual Conference & Golf Championship.
Employ an Legislative Advocate.
Monitor's California Legislative Bills.
Maintains the California GCSA Web Site, which includes a Regional Chapters sections and membership forums.
Publishes the California GCSA monthly E-Magazine.
Support turf grass research projects in California.
The CGCSA office serves as an information contact point for the golf industry.

What does the Association do for you?
Keeps you informed of California legislative bills, this is done by a paid Legislative Advocate, George Steffes. Our legislative advocate tracks legislative bills that may affect the California Golf Course Superintendents and the Golf & Landscape Industry.
Maintains a web site, which has all seven California Golf Course Superintendent Associations information, this includes, listings of associations Board of Directors, Job Opportunities, Monthly Meeting Schedule, Newsletters, Membership Forums, associations monthly meeting flyers or brochures and online meeting registration forms. Additional information is posted when requested by the associations.
Maintains membership forums for the regional associations & the CGCSA. This allows interacting communication between the memberships throughout California.
Organizes the California GCSA Annual Conference, which includes an educational program, table top trade show & golf championship.
Supports turf grass research projects in California.
The California GCSA office serves as an information contact point for the golf industry.
Organized and was a major financially supporter of the 2002 California Golf Industry Economic Impact Study.
Maintains memberships in the California Urban Water Conservation Council and the California Alliance for Golf.
