The Scholarship & Research Committee of the Hi-Lo Desert GCSA is once again sponsoring a scholarship award competition.
This competition is to identify and recognize outstanding students who meet the qualifications outlined below.
This year’s scholarships will be awarded at the Hi-Lo Desert GCSA Scholarship, Research, Benevolent Tournament on September 9, 2009 at The Tradition Golf Club.

• Intent

o Provide financial aid to current Hi-Lo members or their children who are full-time college students and other full-time or part-time college students.
o Aid in expenses such as tuition and books.

• Minimum Requirements (one of the following must be met)

o Applicant must be a son or daughter of a current Hi-Lo member who has been a member for at least one year.  Applicant must be currently enrolled and studying any college level educational field.
o Applicant must be currently employed in the turf management industry and a part-time student enrolled in an accredited college level turfgrass management program (under 12 semester units or quarter equivalents).
o Applicant must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college level turfgrass management program.

1) Please include the following:

a) Reference letter from last employer or supervisor if applicable.
b) Reference letter from two current instructors.
c) Proof of current registration.
d) Copy of most recent transcript.
e) Current resume.
f) 500 word minimum essay on one of the following topics.
    i. Describe the impact the golf industry has had on your life.
    ii. Describe the effects that the Coachella Valley golf courses have had on the community.
    iii. Give a brief biography of an individual or a company's contribution to the Coachella Valley golf industry.
